I either use basking lights or heat tapes. I have 7 tanks and I use lights for the tanks.
I also have 8 racks and I use heat tapes for these....

as long as the temperature is around 80-85 in the day and 70-75 in the night. The humidity going to around 40-50. Then everything should be fine.

Lights usally take a lot of the humidity off the tanks.....so that's a really downside for the lights.....but it looks better with the lights........

So do u want the ambiant air to be at 85 or just so they have somewhere to warm themselves up to that? and should the under tank heater be left on at all times or be on a timer to shut off at night??

I just put my snakes next to some of my beardie enclosures and let them steal off the warmth from the basking end of the cages. Warm side gets to about 83-86 that way without any additional electricity dollars. ;)

If I keep getting more snakes then I guess I'll go with heat tape.

we're using florecent lighting (only increaceases the heat a degree or 3, plus under tank heaters.

There should only be an undertank heater on the warm side right?
