ok, so, apparently it's illegal to have a ball python in new brunswick :S i'm just wondering if it's true and if so where would i be able to read up on these bylaws??? because we ((my boyfriend and i)) were told that the only way we could have them is if they were registered for a zoo purpose and personal pet type balls aren't legal :/ does anyone know?!? :dumb: because it seems odd to me that so many people would have them for personal pets without them being registered :/ so does that mean that a whole lot of people in new brunswick are doing something illegal by having balls as pets? just curious hopefully someone can help me out :)

Bylaws are strange and totally dependant on where you live. I live in Ottawa and our bylaw is 6 ' or so which in theory means you can own a male BCI but not a female. (Although I believe the whole species is now bylawed.) If you just keep it on the low-down and are respectful of your neighbours and don't stroll around flaunting your animal, no one will ever be the wiser. Look up bylaws for your city on their municipal website under animals. Hope this helps...
