well my sneaky little jampea found his way out of his tub. hes 6 feet long but hes a pretty thin snake so hes really not big at all. the thing literaly disapeard though, iv looked every where and i cant find him, my cat didnt find him and my 3 ferrets didnt find him. hes got to be up high but i'm baffled that i still cant find him. hes been missing almost 2 days now. the thing im afraid of is if he gets in the ferret cage they will kill him. so i cant keep waiting for him to show up, i need to find him ASAP. id also like to catch him before my grandparents do =\ if any one has any suggestions where to look for a retic that would be great, thanks for any help.

Always check underneath funiture ....including up and inside if its possible. Get down on its level and look again for where it could be. It may not be a visable place from your perspective.

well im pretty sure i know where hes at. 3 times i have thoroughly looked every where. theres 2 long heaters (which are not turned on yet) in my room. one is right behind the snake rack. i ignored it before thinking he wouldnt be able to get inside it but i looked at it closley and he would be able to fit in there. some one i know who has kept retics for years says when his escape there hiding some where cool. the heaters are metal so im sure they are pretty cool. the bad thing is theres NO way to get him out or even look inside it just to see if hes in there. i guess i'll just have to wait unless some one knows a way to get him to come out.?

The front of that vent comes off very easy'
Just grab the flat surface and pull the bottom out and you will be able to see inside it

Good Luck

mabye try tapping on the heater with a knuckle. if you hear a slight ring or an echo, he's not there, but as soon as you find a "thud" theres a good chance your snake is right there.

I agree with Big_V Snakes like to get up and inside furniture for some reason

If the snake hasnt eaten recently and your pretty sure you know where it is.... dethaw a rat...and present it around the place of hiding. If its hungry like most retics are, it should reveal its hiding spot.

word of advise, if something gets loose, ferrets WILL find it. i had let them out today just like every day to run around and usually they behave so i just sit at the computer and do whatever. i did hear something funny and i turned around and on the other side of the room saw my 6 foot retic slithering as fast as he could to get away from a little ferret. i ran over and grabbed him right away. he seemed a little in shock, probably mad that he knew he wasnt free any more. i looked over his body to see if he got hurt or any thing, only problem is hes sheding so its all flaking off.

on the way over to his NEW tub (one that fits tightly into the rack) he struck at my hand, i saw him bite me sleeve and he even started constricting it. i put him in the tub and he let go and went slithering inside. i felt a slight stinging feeling on my hand so i looked and blood was almost pouring out of my hand. i went upstairs and stuck my hand under cold water washing the blood off and my knuckle got HUGE, i started pushing on it really hard to make sure there wasnt a tooth in there, i guess he just hit a nerve or something but then it started hurting really really really bad. didnt stop bleeding for a long time but my knuckle has a nice big cut on it now. i went to go check his tub again and double check to make sure it was closed tight and he struck at me one more time.

...he's still for sale if any one is interested...
