I buy 30 - 60 # "feeder pigs" (my definition is a bit different from that of swine-farmers) at local livestock auctions. Sometimes they have (too small for "Little Snooky") "weaner pigs" that run 10 - 20 # & typically go pretty cheap, like $5.00 - $10.00 by the head or $25.00 - $35.00 by the hundredweight.
Whatever you get, be sure to check it / them for enteroparasites / helminths or do what I do most of the time - treat for worms for a week to 10 days (continuously in their feed & water. Ectoparasites are not usually a problem for the snake, but could be a problem for you, so I would recommend checking for & getting rid of those as well. I just fog 'em down with a leaf-blower & 10% Sevin Dust®.
Snake's Pit has been engulfed by an expanding city, so now I must avoid problems with ordinances against keeping swine within the city limits - 10 days is the maximum legal storage time. Rabbits are a bit more lenient - it's legal to have up to 15 adults (undefined by the ordinances) & an unlimited number of bunnies (again undefined by the ordinances).
There is a livestock auction in this area about every week ot two, so a steady supply hasn't been a problem, unless buying one when he wants to eat three counts. if I buy three & he only eats one, I just butcher the extras & eat 'em myself if the 10 days hits.
