When a Bearded dragon is under about a year, I would feed them 50% of their diet in protein, meaning crickets and insects, and the other 50% in vegetation. The easisest way is to alternate veggies and insects each day. As the dragon gets to be fully grown, 70% of the diet should be Veggie and 30% Protein. I have 4 Dragons, they have all been fed this way, and have all grown up to be healthy adults. Once a dragon is fully grown, the amount of food they eat can drastically decrease, but i pretty much make sure i have a nutrient rich salad available 5 days a week, whether they eat it or not..

There are many fabulous websites with huge lists of proper veggies, I suggest you take the time to look them up.....

We offer our baby dragons salad at 4 days old. In the wild, they have a better chance of finding vegitation daily then insects. A good healthy diet of greens is very benificial for the proper growth of beardies. Jim. The Dragons Tale.

Its always good to feed veggies although most are not interested in eating them until they are older. We feed collard greens, dandelion greens, kale, squash, carrots, red cabbage...etc. everyday and try to feed this right away in the morning so that everyone has something to eat when they are up and hungry. For a complete list look up www.iculizard.com/content/caresheets.html. Baby beardies do need a lot more protein in their diet though if you want them to grow properly so don't be stingy on the crickets. Feed 2-3 times a day until they are about 6 months old then you can cut back to once a day for the next 6 months or so and then every other day at full grown. Feel free to ask us anything if you have any more questions.
