Hello!

Would everyone please share thier successful methods of keeping reptiles warm enough in the case of a power / heat outage? I live in Canada & the house can easily fall to -40 C if we loose heat in the dead of winter ...

oh - getting a $5000 generator is not an option.

Have you looked at the Canadian Tire Battery packs? I believe they're around 100 - 300 depending on the Wattage/size of it. It's called the Eliminator or something like that.

actually, the Eliminator is a solar panel. But thanks for the link.

One person told me that in such an emergency, to fill up a hot water bottle, wrap it in a towel & put it in the cage. I was wondering if anyone had other simple suggestions like this?

well i have a wood stove in my house.. id transfer all my animals up close to the fire..

also at canadian tire theres on of thoes battery packs that you keep pluged in until power goes out... then you just plug in your stuff.. you can hook the solar panel up to it in case you loose power for extended periodes of time..

with a power outage id plug in a space heater... get my room as warm as possible ect ect
