How many visitors to these forums own green anacondas and what has been your experiences with them (temperament, ease of keeping etc.)? What is the largest that you own?

i dont actually have an anaconda, but i did work with them at the zoo. The ones i worked with were very aggressive and difficult to handle, plus the sizes they obtain make them a little difficult to keep, because of the space requirement etc.

Thats my opinion, they are great animals, and Im sure all arent extreamly aggressive, but i would say they are a fairly difficult snake for a private individual to own

my 2 cents
good luck

Same excact scenario as Matt .. the ones we have and have had at work were agreesive and fairly hard to keep to clean .. because of the water cleaning ...

They grow big and bite hard.....really hard. They also strike with huge lunges that will knock you over. They eat a lot and poop a lot also. I will say that the musking has to be the most interesting part...it feels like the musk is burning your skin from the irritation it causes. I must still admit it though...they are my favourite snake to own and likely always will be !!!!
