I recently bought a pair of snakes on the auction. They are to be shipped via Fedex overnight delivery. The seller says he is not an"authorized" shipper. He says that he can't label the box as lilve animals because of this. I am worried that the snakes might be put in an unpressurized and/or unheated part of the cargo hold. Or that the package might get squished or something.

Can anyone tell me if there are likely to be problems?

Also I am curious about what one has to do to be an authorized shipper?

thanks

there will not be in the heated part and he can put live reptiles on the box you do not need to be an authorized shipper.make him label the box so they will put the snakes on the heated flight.

More like Fed Ex won't accept the shipment because of it. He probably has extra steps to take or extra costs to ship live animals. In Canada it is illegal to courier live animals, States I don't know. I would seriously question this. The courier needs to know it is live animals or they will treat it like inanimat objects & they don't handle things very well on the whole. sounds pretty fishy to me, I would not buy from this seller personally. EDIT: Actually I don't know if illegal for sure but they don't do it.
