I recently got a baby retic, it is wc, i would like any suggestions anyone can give me about the taming and health of it, ty! What kind of habitat should i make it in her cage, i have a 175 gallon tank with moss and hiding place, i have a humidifier in the room and i spray its cage twice daily. the flooring is wood chips.

well as far as taming goes, all you can really do is frequently handle it, which shouldnt be a problem because its still a baby. a 175 gallon tank may be a bit large for her right now. baby snakes can get very stressed out from having too large of an enclosure. if you must keep her in that size tank put 2 or 3 hides in there, not just one. i really dont think retics need the amount of humidy that you are giving yours( i could be wrong on this though). and unless you are worried about the way its enclosure looks, i would highly recommend using newspaper as a substrate. it makes cleaning a lot easier. hope this helps.

Yep, reconsider the aquarium because you should do whats best for your retic and because the lid is probably mesh it will lose the humidity very fast. If you stay with it I would suggest investing in a timed sprayer which I can buy for $100.00 at my petstore which lookes really professional. Also spraying with the spritzer bottles is a huge task for a 175 gallon (I have trouble with my 40gallon tall). Have fun while its small because it wont be a baby to much longer :P Frequent handling will do for the taming, I would say about 3-4 times a week.

Ya, but the humidity thing, shes not in an 175 gallon fish tank, shes in a 175 gallon reptarium, thats what the humidifier is for, to keep the whole room moist. Do you recomend me getting a fish tank or putting her in a rubbermaid, cause the whole room is humid, i an tell when i breath in there, you can fell the moisture?

The humidifier (if its on all the time) will wreck your room because of the constant moisture so I wouldnt reccomend it on all the time for more then a couple days at a time. OH, you mean those mesh black ones that are made out of pvc tubing? Those arent on my A list as because first of all they are real flimsy and the mesh is like a plastic that with the right temperature will melt, anyways, its ur decision. Do you want a display animal or something you look at once a week or how many times you like?
