I'm trying to get off the aquarium's for my balls and near future additions. right now i have my adult male in a 50 gallon aquarium and the baby female ball in a 10 gallon. I also am looking to get into Papuan Olive Pythons(Apodora Papuana) And want to get two of them, a male and a female. I want to build a fairly roomy setup for all the snakes and want front opening designs but what dimensions do adult balls like? and what dimension do adult papuans like? i plan to make easy to clean but natural looking enclosures for all of them. all i' mlooking for right now are dimensions

First off for the baby ball, buy a sterlite or rubbermaid container according to the size of him and house him in those for a year till hes about 2 feet. Then you can introduce him into his new enclosure. You can stress baby ball pythons in big spaces like putting a newborn ball into a 4 foot enclosure. Rubbermaids are fairly cheap, easiest to clean and work just fine. for the size of your enclosure it should be at least 3/4 the length of your snake when it will be an adult. So lets say ur ball python is gonna grow 5 feet. youd need an enclosure around 4 feet long and depth isnt really a big ting as long as its around 1.5 but u can add as much as u want for extra space for your snake. If you have enough space in your room to make it 2.5+ deep you can shorten the length a bit. and for height it all depends on how u want to set up your cage. with brances for it to climb on and other stuff.
Its really all up to you with dimesions, as long as the snake has a fair ammount of space Dont want a grumpy snake :medfroner
[edit] I dont know anything really on papuans. sorry...

An adult Papuan will need an 8x3 or 8x4 enclosure. But keep in mind, it takes them 8-10 years to reach adulthood. You won't want to put a baby in an 8x4 obviously. So, you'll need several different enclosures as they get older. I've noticed mine like to curl up a lot, but they haven't put on their adult girth yet. Once they do, the 4x2's I have them in now will not suffice.

Floor space. Side to Side X Front to Back.......so 4X2 would be 4 feet long X 2 feet front to back.
Only Aboreal's need any real height.....most others do fine in a 12 to 18 inch high setup.
