I know this isn't a joke, but I thought "No better place to post a riddle":

A guy walks into a bar, and as soon as he walks in, the bartender shoots him with a gun (NOT the drink shot). So then he goes to court, the jury says he's guilty, and the judge says "I guess I have no choice but to let this guy off the hook". Why didn't he punish this man? :confused:

The first time I heard this riddle, it was "the bar tender's TWIN brother" who shot the man. That gives you part of the clue to figure it out. If it had been written that way, the answer would have been obvious and easier to understand.
