I was just wonder, I found a breeding pair of jungle carpet python for sale. They are the parent to the young one I bought in my earlier picture. He is asking $500 dollars for them. He has breed them twice and is moving. Is this a good deal??

If they are nice looking i would say yes .. defenetly. u can make ure money back and more in one breeding season .. and theres lots more to come

In the long run its profitable and jungles are ery entertaining species to care for ..

Just my .02$

If you have the cash, space and time for them, GO FOR IT!

Let us know what you decide:)

Well, its only a good deal in two instances that are not mutually exclusive:

1) You actually WANT these snakes (in which case, maybe $1000 is a "good deal").

2) You can breed these things at least once. Even 10 eggs at $150US a baby can net you 3 TIMES what you paid for them, and you'll still have the initial investment (the adults)!!

But ultimately, no one can tell you if its worth it for you. That should be in your brain. I have no idea how skilled you are at breeding snakes or anything, so even if they were $50 and you killed them throuh poor husbandry, it would be a bad deal. Good luck!

I'd buy them for that much if I could.

Jeff, I have not breed them before, I have never owned a Jungle carpet until a couple of months ago. I am interested in them but I really don't know that much about them I have searched the net and read everything I could find I also bought a book but haven't read it yet.

I have breed dumirels boas before and several species of lizards. I was just wondering how hard and how big the setup will be. I also have not found very much info on humidity to incubate at, even though that is down the line

You should visit the website:

http://www.morelia.ca

He has a bunch of information on his Jungle Carpet Pythons.

Karels website should be able to help you out. Maybe give him an e-mail if you have any other questions. Im sure he wouldn't mind answering quesitons.

If you have minimal Boid husbandry experience, you should be able to breed the Jungles fairly easily. The only problem you may run into is that you don't have another male for spring combat, which is a big deal in Jungles. Good luck though. I'd do it.

well I found out more about the pair today. I meet with the gut today. The female is 3.5 years old and the male is 3 years old. He got the from some guy in Colorado and is going to get me the name of the person. The pair also produced offspring last year and he didn't have a combatting male either time. A week ago he ran out of cage space and he put them together and the breed several times. So we decide I will take them and incubate the eggs, then split the hatclings. good deal I think.

sounds like a great deal. And you have to start some where.
