I am very new to boas
but then I saw at the Daytona show a blood boa.

Genetically what are these?

I know that there are albino, anery, snow, ghost, hypo (salmon), super salmons and a couple of other genetical boas....but what are bloods?

The First Blood Boas originated from a RED Boa that was found in El Salvador and owned by Ron St. Pierre. The Boa was line bred and was proven to be a genetic recessive trait. These boas like most Central American boas are true Dwarves. The Blood Boas max out at around 5 feet and have been bred at around 4 feet in length. They are very unique in head structure also. The Head is blunt and the eyes are dark. As youngsters they are literally Blood Red -- As Adults they tend to get darker but still exhibit that blood red back ground color. This Trait is beatfull with out adding any of the genes on the market today. From what I have seen the addition of other traits in the past has diluted the color on these blood red boas. I personally will be simply breeding Blood Boas to eachother or to Hets Blood Boas to keep their bloodlines ( no pun intended ) pure. Even the Hets are beautiful Boas with lots of orange on them.
