Hey all,
Just got this guy (at least I think he's a guy...gotta verify once he's settled down) yesterday. The first two are from the seller, and the last one is from my camera. Sorry about the quality...my current camera sucks. I'll update later when I get my hands on a better one.

So, he's my first BCI, who gave me my first tag :)
Routine maintenance gone wrong. Got freaked when he spotted one of my cats while I was checking his heater. The cat chewed up my arm pretty good while removing her from the room (after making sure Judas was secure) and then Judas tagged me while I bagged him to try to calm him down. It worked once he was IN the bag! He's safe and sound now, checking for weak spots in his enclosure.
Here's the tag:

Thanks for the kind words.
Catch you guys later.

I didn't think the cats would bug him, as he was on the floor with a cat in the house in his last home. Guess I was wrong LOL

LOL, you can expect being tagged by that snake many more times. Im all to familiar with that bci. lol :medopen: :medvampir
very very pretty bci, that tail is awesome. im very glad ferrets have horrible eye sight because im sure theyd want to play with my snakes. when there running around sometimes i see the snakes watching them. they are use to the furry creatures now usually ignore them boucing around near their cages.
kronic- im not saying your wrong but iv had 4 different bcis in tha past few years and 3 of them have never bit me, the newer one i got had a little bit of a temper and one time while holding him he bit my pants but totaly ignored my hand in which he was wraped around and seems calmer every time i hold him. my one bci iv had almost 6 years and shes never even struck at me. so i would say dont exactly expect to get bit again or atleast any time soon if you handle him right.
Really cool looking snake. The tail really is awesome. Lrptls, I have never been bitten by mine either.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
This guy just hates being bothered when he's resting (which is like, 90% of the time). I'm gonna give him about a month with really limited handling, just cage maintenance and feeding, and then start to work with him. His hissing gets my adrenaline going every time I check his cage temps and stuff, but I can't even feel his bite anymore...the damage the cats did on the other hand...LOL.
I'll post better pics when I get them.

i have only gotten bit by my boa once and that was because my brother brought over his corn snake and it tried to attack and i blocked his shot and ended up with a piece of my hand gone!

like i said good luck with ur sleepy fellow. there is a reason u got him so cheap :medzoomey
Nice boa! As he ages chances of him being spooked will lessen, and handling him lots will help that along and help him get used to being out and about. I have a young female that will bite anything that touches her head before about a minute out...even if she moves her head to the object
nice boa , ver ypretty tail

i'm biting my lip...
Serpens, I'm glad Judas is ok now, sorry he tagged you. Like I said, although he's had a couple of bad days, he's usually very calm when handled. I'm sure he'll get used to the new cage and the cats, like he did with mine.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing and seeing his progress.
