Okay, im getting my BP this upcoming herp show! yay! here is what i need to know just to be sure.
I plan on getting a baby ball python male. I will be keeping him in a rubbermaid that is a bit longer than a keyboard, so around 20" by about 10" and 6"(temporarily). I will be using a sunbeam heatpad which im getting tomorrow. It had 3 settings, low med high. Im going to place the sunbeam 1/3 under the rubbermaid, in between the rubbermaid and uth, i will place a towel(ive heard of hotspots from sunbeam heatpads). Im going to try to regulate the temperature the best i can once ive got the heatpad. I have yet to get a thermometer or hydrometer. I was wondering what a probe thermometre would cost me digital or not, i think im going to need the cheapest i can get cause of a cornsnake and tank and all the supplies. ill save the questions for after. Im going to have 2 appropriately sized hides one on each side of the rubbermaid and im going to have the waterbowl mostly on the cool size but part of it on the hotter half. Im going to be drilling multiple holes in the rubbermaid tomorrow as well. I will be using newspaper for substrate, or paper towwell if told differently about newspaper. If theres anything else i forgot, let me know.

some Q's i have.

About how much can i get a decent thermometre and Hydrometre(state separated prices) for at the expo? and i also plan on getting a dimmer but not right now cause of funds.

Thanks for your time and effort. and help of course.

Kronic; for a beginner you seem to have a great knowledge base, better than most for sure. That said, I would definitely go with paper towel as a substrate and a digital thermometer/hygromet combo will run you close to $20 at Wal-Mart, HomeDepot, Canadian Tire, etc. Also, in an enclosure that size, I would go with one hide, not two. Keep up the learning and congratulations.
