Hatchling feeding problem?!

I have a hatchling that is about one and a half months old. He started off normal and then stopped feeding a few weeks ago. I do not want replies telling me not to worry and that he will start eating on his own once he gets hungry enough. He is still quite small and as he only ate a little prior to his fast I feel that he needs to get some food into his system. I would like any suggestions as he will not eat any insects at this time. If you know of any force feeding techniques and a formula that would be safe for him it would be very much appreciated.

Some times these little guys have a hard time on the hunt and after a few misses the get frustrated and give up then get too week to hunt! A couple tricks that were taught to me that have always worked very well 1. The crushed head! Just squeaze the head of a few crix(not too hard but hard enough that they twitch but cant walk) then lay them on there backs buy you hatchlings hide. When your hatchling comes sniffing they will twitch but cant run! In the morning they should be gone! 2. The torn head method! Pull the head off of an aproprate sized crix and squeaze the abdoman gently a clear liquid should oze out. Rub the liquid on the leos nose, when he licks it hold the crix to his face and hopfuly the little guy grabs on. Both of these tricks have worked very well for me in the past.

Try some chicken babyfood (strained kind, not the lumpier junior food) and rub some on his lips, along the side of his mouth. He should start licking it off, just keep your finger in front of his tongue so he can lick more. Some people say to dab it on his nose but if he's so tiny, he might inhale and choke too easily. Smearing it on his lips should work. You could also try yogurt or 'Ensure' or 'Boost' the same way.

Any news on the leo hatchling rmlr?

It was very sad but even after all of the work I did trying to get him eating he passed away one night. I thought that he was getting better but then I woke up one morning to check on him and he was gone. He was a premature hatchling so he wasn't in great helth right from the get-go.

I did my best and it was quite the learning experience. Very sad nonetheless.

:( im sorry. The reason I brought this thread up is because my albino is LOADED with hook worms, and not feeding well (The vet gave her some ivermectin and ive gotta repeat again two more times) so I was reading the older threads for some info on leos that wont eat.

It is sad when this kind of thing happens to reptiles. They can be so difficult to work with in situations like this but because of our love for these animals we do anything we can for their sakes.

good news, my albino is more active and more intrested in food than she has been in like two weeks. (she was treated for hooks 7 days ago). The only problem is now shes only intrested in crickets :(! She wont eat wax worms, superworms, and rarely mealworms now.
