7 pet rats are geting kind of expensive to feed and now iv decided to breed my 2 girls to 2 of my boys that are close to the same size and age. i buy a bag of rat blocks and a bag that has seeds and other things mixed in and i mix all those together. those 2 bags dont last very long. usually once food goes stale i mix those in too (usually crackers and things) i also give them fruits and meat.
iv heard of feeding rats dog food, is it ok to feed them this? if i did theyd still mostly be fed rat blocks.
im just trying to think of other, cheap foods i can mix in my rat food to save money and last my food supply longer, especialy if they will be multiplying.
any other food suggestions would be great, thanks.

If you can find it buy a 50lb bag of Mazuru 6F, it will probably cost you 15 bucks and last a couple months at least for only 7 rats.

Its Mazuri 6F, I buy it in 50lb bags for $20 at Rens.
Its good stuff! All my breeders love it.

I also give my breeders table scraps, whatever is left from dinner goes to the rats :)
They love it!

just don't forget that pet rats and breeder rats have different nutritional needs :)
