My ball python has a scale left on his eye left over from his last shed (it looks funny because now he has an eye patch) but what I want to know is what is the best way to go about getting it off his eye with out hurting him?

I t won't hurt, just leave it and it will come off at next shed, but you have to provide higher humidity inorder to have a nice shed.

Yeah, BEST bet is to wait for another shed cycle, then do everything possible to keep the humidity high and nice and warm. SHould come off as the next shed is coming off under neath it. If its a small BP, you won't have to wait long for another shed cycle!

You should use a non-mould growing substrate like cypress mulch or aspen bedding. Spray it with copious amounts of water when he goes into shed mode and the skin should come off without any problems. After the shed you can let the bedding dry out a little bit to reduce the humidity to optimum levels.

Exactly what pollywog said. Indoor/outdoor carpet or reptile carpet is a sub-par substrate for Ball Pythons. You are better off with newspaper if you don't want to use a particale substrate.

I had the same problem with my BP and even after a few sheds it wouldn't come off. I brought him to the vet and the vet just took a Q-tip w/ some eye solution and rubbed it lightly until it came off, I never had a problem after that.
