Hey i was just wondering if you guys could help me out with building a custom tank for my bearded dragon Blaze whos about 2months old currently. So i have like plenty of time to build it due to hes still tiny n thats way to much room for his size right now lol.

From what i know ive designed it to be 4feet long by 2feet wide by 2feet high.
and the front is going to be a glass door that swings down for easy access. and the top would be a screen top like a normal glass tank has just so its good ventalation n lights can be hooked up easier. since i have basic wood working skills.

The problem is im not sure what materials to use for the tank. Like plywood, malimine (spelling??), or what. I've read up on it but i want sumthing thats good quality wood n will do well with temps, and what not. But also it has to be kinda cheap to buy.

thanks for the help.

melimine is best on the cheaper end but plywood is better for quality..

sliding glass is better than swinging and no need for a screen top... just use a few floor vents or just some wire screen with a border

heres a pic of my hom built custom tank... its 3/4" ply and holds heat amazing... i actually had to add 2 vents to the top to allow for more heat to escape.. i couldnt turn the bulb low enough
