I know that you all think that I am a little 'far fetched'---wiggy---looney---odd---even stupid, but I just can't figure out what is going on here.
I thought at first that because my baby Burmese had a mite problem, that she was just scratching her belly on me, but.....I have become a mother to 1.2 CH baby Ball Phythons, and 5.0 CBB baby Ball Pythons last week...The 3 CH babies came from Boca Morphs out of Florida and the 5 CBB babies came from a breeder in the Detroit area.
Anyway, All of them clench their bellies on my hands and arms when I handle them. I wear alot of bracelettes and they act like they are rubbing and clenching their stomaches on them, and then they continue this gyrating movement on my arms and hands.
They don't seem to be acting defensive while doing this. Nor do they seem to be doing it out of stress, or trying to get away from being handled. They do this after they become relaxed and start exploring who is handling them.
What are they doing and what does it mean?
Thanks,

becuase pythons are so husky they dont move in the normal s type pattern that most snakes do. pythons move in a strait line by flexing there stomach musels (sp?). so that chench feeling you get when you hold them is probably them trying to move around on you arm.

I'm back!!! My modem went out on my computer again and I haven't been able to respond..
I bought the males so that I would be able to choose the very best 2 to keep for myself. I have since bought 10 more CH females also-- to choose my favorites.....The rest are for sale.. I am having a very hard time with these choices.. I really like all of these guys!! I am raising rats, hamsters and mice for feed and they have just started to give me some babies. I can see already that I will be having a hard time choosing which of these babies will be food and which will be kept for breeders....I JUST LOVE THEM ALL!!!
Now....Back to the original question...
What is with this clenching movement? If i lay them in their cages and they crawl around, they don't make that clenching movement to move around...they just crawl around. It is a movement different from their normal movement. It's almost like a hugging gesture. But..THEY ALL DO IT...I can't be the only one who it is happening to!! Someone must know what it means...

My baby ball does it as well, i think their scared and trying to wrap your arm a bit so u get a message to let them go, cause their still agitated with being held and stuff. Just my guess/opinion.

Yeah!!!
"They like giving massages..." Lol...So i'm NOT making my snakes weird!! They all do this to everybody!! I thought that maybe I was causing them to do this because I am constantly petting them and giving them back massages when I handle them....I use to smoke and now I just seem to need to do SOMETHING with my hands all the time. A rubber band can entertain me for hours...LOL!!
I am still wondering what's going on in the snakes's mind when they do this..????
"They like giving massagses..." Hahahahaa!!
someone post a pic of a BIG BALL PYTHON
