today i finally got my female yellow. i got my male in january, he was already huge but i didnt measure him until a few weeks ago, hes just a tad over 7 feet and around 15 lbs. hes very nice though, sometimes he gets wiggly but for the most part hes easy to handle and does not bite. i have decided to breed all of my snakes so i started looking for a girl. i found one online, i could not see any pictures of her but talked with her owner and asked him lots of questions. but any ways she is now here. shes pretty small, almost 4 feet. i have not touched her yet but iv been told she will bite me. hopefully when she gets use to her cage and starts feeding well i can work on handling her. does any one know if yellows tame easily? i didnt have to worry about that with my boy, he was already tame =) this girl has some nice patterns i think and shes kind of greenish, i like that because my male is bright yellow, hopefully IF they have babies there will be some nice variety

Usually they are known for there random agressiveness. Also, if you bother them to much, to a point you are sure to find out, they wont hesitate to let you know.

She looks nice!

i have heard that they are known to bite without warning so be careful on that. they grow relatively slow i think so itll probably be awhile before she is big enough to breed. but good luck with taming her down and i hope you get some babies in a few years.

they do bite without warning, my male did that twice when i got him but its been 8 months sence then and hes made no more atempts. shes going to have to almost double in size before i can breed them. i grabd a few more shots of her soaking, heres one thats a little better.

Both are VERY good looking snakes. That male is a CHUNK! We know he's been eating. I have a female yellow that I got back in December at about 4ft. and she is around 6ft. now and is yet to bite or strike. She was very squirmish when I first got her though, but has calmed down. The guy I got her from said that she had only struck once, but the guy she struck at was grabbing at her head (idiot)! So apparently she wasn't too bad to begin with. Good luck.

do yellows tend to be more aggressive then greens?

Yellows and Greens can both be pretty aggressive, Yellows have tended to calm down a lot faster either way with me though. But both yellows and greens can be kittens or monsters, lol.

thanks for the compliments every body. my male is a big giant puppy. sometimes hes a bit wiggly but most of the time hes great. i am completly leaving the new girl alone so she can settle, when checking temps or cleaning her water bowl she strikes at me many times. shes QUICK, i know shes gonna bite me alot lol. i want to get her eating before i handle her. my male took a long time to settle and didnt eat for about a month or so. the guy told me she was 2 years old and still this small, said she was a picky eater when he got her, shes not even four feet though, do you think hes lieing?
