Help- Mole King

Need help getting my (personally) wc mole kingsnake to eat. he has ate one skink and a mouse so far within my care but has had recent trouble being converted over to being a mouse eater. if i can't change him over to mice from herps should i just start feeding him herps to keep his weight up? or still just keep trying to get him on mice? Mice are just fury burgers (for the snakes :mednormal )as far as I am concerned but feeding him herps like wc skinks and petstore anoles may just have to be the answer.... i'm going to try and feed him a frog tonite wish me luck.......all advice is welcome

Try scenting the mouse with what ever he likes eating. Try putting them both into ziplock bag for a while. Has worked with my friends and their garter snakes. Daniel

thanx daniel i'll try that today if i have a chance .... i think i may have some good luck though because i placed a frog in his enclosure last night and he is no where to be found this morning. certainly would be alot easier to feed him frogs instead of lizards but i'll try the mouse scenting trick tonite.

no luck with the mice or frogs as of yet but skinks seem to be his meal of choice.... guess i might have to deal with it for a lil while longer until i can get the hint of scenting mice

What size/age is your snake?? It makes a difference.
If he's still a juvenile then scenting pinks or fuzzies with skink should work. They all love skinks it seems.
I have VA mole kings and this year's babies are hatched. 2 took pinks right away and I will most likely try scenting pinks this weekend with the rest. If that doesn't work I sometimes force a mouse tail for their first few meals.
What county is yours from?? Any pictures??

He is around 2' or so ....and has ate one med. size mouse before but hasnt taken one since. but everytime a skink is offered he always takes it. My king is from powhatan county....in the country outside of richmond. sorry no pics just yet but i will have some soon. do you have any pics?
