ok well its like this i want to get into gaints but i wannna work my way up i am too young(13) to get in to gaints yet but like i wanna work my way up now i have a 4foot read tail and i think a blood would be a good next snake what tou guys think
I'm confused, that 4 foot red tail could easily turn into a 10 foot snake. But the blood will stay below 6 feet. So it seems to me that you are getting smaller, unless you are talking about thickness? I think you need a carpet python, like suggested in your other post.

IMO, bloods are a great species to work with, but I would give it a little more time with your boa as it gets bigger before going into bloods as they can turn out to be a handful(.......more like several handfuls lol). A 4 foot or even 6 foot boa is not really comparable to a similar sized blood. My 4ft juvi blood is just as thick as my 5.5ft boa, and more of a handful to deal with. Take some more time with your boa first IMO(in my opinon).

Being only 13 you aren't in any rush. I would just wait it out with your boa for some time still, gain more experience with that first before jumping in to any more (especially more challenging) animals.

I would easily equate Bloods with Giants. Honestly, I find Burms a hell of a lot easier to work with than Bloods. They are not awkward to handle, and are not nearly as sensitive, though either of the same thickness is about matched for stength. I wouldn't consider a blood downsizing by any means from even the largest boa - which btw, don't easily grow to ten feet. Few and far between will ever reach that size.

Well put Linds, definately agree with that, I find my 12 ft. burm way more manageable when out of his cage than any of my bloods :medzoomey Blood cage cleaning day can be quite the task and definately tries ones patience. I'd actually suggest going with a coastal carpet python first as they can achieve a decent size and are much more manageable than a blood. Either way enjoy your red tail and whatever else you decide to go with.

seems to me like some of the smaller species....bloods, balls and so on are way more prone to snap at you.....I had a blood take a go at my face the other day.....I was standing there and another guy was holding it....no sudden movements or anything....just WAM.......too close for my liking.....LOL

i agree with a Carpet Python in my opinion u should start with a small python just to get the hang of pythons in general they are more aggresive then Boas in my opinion
