I just looooove common names, don't you? :)
Okay, it could be one of 2 species, several subspecies.
Egyptian Sand Geckos (or just plain Sand Geckos) are usually Stenodactylus.
The trouble is the 'micro' part... it's normally reserved for Tropiocolotes, truly a micro gecko. I've had both species, several kinds and find they're all very interesting and easy to breed. Check out the pictures for both at GGA Photo Gallery (http://www.gekkota.com/html/q-r-s-t-u.html) the link goes to teh Q-U names, makes it easier to find the ones you want. There's a care sheet for Stenodactylus sthenodactylus (note spellings) but it can also serve as a basic good all around care sheet for Tropiocolotes. The differences in their care isn't much, mostly food size differences.

hmm well none of the geckos you mentioned look like the ones I saw but a lot of the pictures didnt work. well the geckos where about the size of Sphaerodactylus elegans but they the pattern looked more like Sphaerodactylus altavelensis lucioi male but they where yellow and brown not blue and purple. got any ideas what they might be now?
Thanks

Tropiocolotes is that shape and Tropiocolotes tripolitanus is more commonly imported than T. steudneri. I guess I'd say T. tripolitanus.
