... Everybody likes the idea of a dwarf or small Boa (and I don't mean rosy-boas or sand boas or rubber boas, real BOAS!).. there are some localities of Boas, mostly imperator, that do stay small.
We were fortunate in acquiring some high-altitude Boa from way north in Mexico in the Tarahumara mountains. These guys are the smallest Boa we have seen.. they will breed and have babies at about age 3-years at just under 1-meter in length and less than 2KG in mass. Unlike a lot of other Mexico and CA imperator these guys have been docile and great pets. Here's a pic...

.. that's not a baby! It is a two year old male and he sits comfortably in my hand. (photo is about 2X life-size)..
These are great boas. I hope this opens your eyes to the natural genetic variation in the Boa.
