I fed my bp a f/t rat two days ago and he looked normal. Today, after allowing the snake two days to digest, I took it out of its rubbermaid to handle it and to change its newspaper. Well, the snake appears very dull and its eyes are milky so it looks like its going to have its first shed since being in my care.

I was just wondering, how long after you notice the snake has cloudy/milky eyes does it take to complete the shed? Just wondering when my snake will be beautiful again! lol

evrything usually takes ten days but i would say in about 4-5 day it will shed. just keep the humidity up to like around 80 degrees.

Humidity is not a temperature, it is a percentage:. 80% +. Also, I've noticed with my balls, that they vary on how long it takes to shed. Some 5 days, some closer to 2 weeks. Play it by ear.

im sorry mykee your right its not a tempeture its a percentage. what i meant was try to get it to 80%+ humidity but also too much humidity is not good for your snake.

Humidity is not a degree either it is just humidity you either have too much or not enough we guage this by the percentage we alow in the enclosure 50% 60% 80%.

The time is different from snake to snake and humidity in the cage. I have noticed that smaller snakes seem to shed faster. Some of my big girls take 2-3 weeks to shed. Hatchlings in about a week.

Well, he/she is still all dull with cloudy eyes today, so I guess I still have to play the waiting game...
