I feel kind of silly asking this but I was wondering if it was ok to put any kind of rock in my ball python cage? I found this awsome looking white rock with crystals thru it that would look great in the cage, plus it would give him something to help with sheds. I'm just asking because I know there are some kinds of wood that aren't to be used and was wondering if that extends to rocks to. I've already scrubed, boiled, and baked the rock and know 100% there is nothing on it that can hurt the snake so now it's just a question of whether it's ok to use this kind of rock. Any opinions would be great. Here is the actual rock.

I dont see why not. Just be sure to clean it before hand.

Looks okay, with a rock like that I would only be worried about it tipping ifthe snake is crawling on it. It looks heavy with sharp-ish edges. So long as it's steady, I would use it if you want. I personally use a piece of slate that is about 1/4 inch high and as big around as the palm of my hand, just to give them something to rub on.

The picture actually makes this rock look bigger then it really is. It's just a bit bigger then my hand if you can believe it and is flat on the bottom so there is no way it can tip over.

seems ok to me, i think the rocks they say to avoid are rocks that contain alot of lime, rocks that are small enough to be accidently ingested, sharp rocks, and rocks that break apart easy. Your rock doesnt look like it has any of these bad qualities.
