Okay if you know how small a neonate emeralds head is, this should amaze you! LOL I threw the zoom lens i just bought on my canon g2 and i got a pretty nice Macro shot of the baby emmeralds head...
Ive seen close ups of adult emmys but remember this is a baby and her head is no bigger then a dime :) This is straight off the camera, no editing of any sort :)
Enjoy.

Matt, Macro shot is a close up shot... I would highly recommend the Canon G2 to you. It may be expensive but it is well worth the money and you will never need another digital camera again. You can purchase a lensmate adapter for 20$ american and then you can use ALL i mean ALL canon, nikon, minolta and all of the SLR lenses on your digital camera... what more could you ask for?1?!?! lol 5 megapixels 3x optical and 10x digital zoom and way to many features to list, including black and white mode and movies, yadda yadda, LOL even has a remote control to take pics of yourself r anything.. Matt go to http://www.dpreview.com if your shopping for a digital camera, they have reviews on EVERY model known to man, and comparisons...
cool, thank for the info Jeff, time to start shopping, I have to make a decision soon

These are a couple of close up pics that i took with the canon powershot A20..I think it's like half the price of the g2,but still takes pretty good quality pics.

it actually adds much more definition to the pic. For example I could take 2 pictures of the same scene from the same distance, same lighting, same everything, and take one pic without the macro on and one pic with the macro on, the pic with the macro on will turn out with much better definition, less of "the blur factor". It definately helps for close ups but don't you use a zoom for the close ups and the macro to better define the close up? Just wanted to try and claify that for those who want to learn about digi-cams. I need a new one too, the old epson's age is starting to show, especially when I look at Jeff's and Chris' pics of ETBs and GTPs. Great pics guys, beautiful snakes.
