I posted earlier that I had seperated my pair of geckos because my female had gotten too skinny. she just laid a couple eggs(the deed must have been done before seperating them several weeks ago) and she seemed to have a hard time laying them. I was really concerned that I would lose her and I have no vet available to me. I kept a close eye on her and left her alone, covered the cage for privacy for a couple days before she finally laid. She did not attempt to burry them, she just laid them out on the paper towel as she had done the last clutch. for this reason I plan to not ever breed her again. Although the last clutch recently hatched and these eggs look good, it is apparent she has a difficult time.
My question is what can I feed her to help her gain some weight. I haven't weighed her since laying these eggs, I want to give her time to recoop. But she was down to 25g a couple weeks ago and that would have been with eggs in her belly. She has not eaten in a long time, I have been feeding her emeraid from a dropper and liquid calcium. She has gained strength since I have been doing this and is acting normal now. I am hoping since she laid the eggs that she will at least start eating the fruit again. but I don't think fruit will add any weight to her. So are there any kind of bugs that are slow to move that she may like to eat and fatten her up?
