I recieved my baby burmese python which is about 2 feet long. It has been 7 days and he won't eat anything I give him,(hoppers, pinkies, small adults) he does not seem interested. I had to force feed him a pinkie today and he acted pretty aggresive afterwards which is understandable. He looks healthy, but my question is, will he eventually start eating on his own? thanks
You should let him settle in, most people will wait a week or so before feeding. Force feeding was very drastic and I doubt needed. You should have gave him more time. Try feeding him again in about a week or so.

Burmies usually have really strong feeding responses, but it's not unusual for them to be picky eaters, if there is something that's bothering them. One of the biggest issues that can cause them to not want to eat is "mites" if they are spending a lot of the time in their water bowl, it could be because they have mites. Burmies are very prone to mites, so check it out.
If they don't have mites, GREAT !! Just be patient, it won't be long before they are eating you out of house, and home !! LOL !!

When I got my baby she was only days out of the egg, and would only eat live fuzzy mice, and then only if I wasn't in her view. I would drop in the mouse and go away for a while, when I got back the mouse was gone and she was hiding in the foliage in her enclosure. Others I have talked to also say young burms are very shy and rather nippy, as I have found with mine. I agree that mites might be a problem but that never stopped mine from eating, she just spent a lot of time in her water dish.
Keep trying.

I do not notice any mites or he is not soaking in his water, but I will try again in a week. I hope it got him started on a taste of food. I agree, I think they can be shy when young.

Froce feeding can cause stress to your snake and is not needed because the snake didnt eat for one week.
