I recently acquired a turtle from a friend, and I have no idea what kind it is. Any help with identification and care pages is greatly appreciated.

It's a very friendly turtle, and it's eating well, but it still looks a little worn.

Thanks for any and all help.

Hey,
its a central american wood turtle. It looks like it has had a improper diet, because the shell is curling up. he also looks a bit dry. Is he in a aquatic set up?

I've been setting up an old 55 gallon for the past hour, and it's bathing in a 20 gallon right now. Those pics were taken shortly after I got it. Thanks for the ID. :) Do you have an advice for me?

Yeah sure, I have two in a 75 gallon. Its half land half water. the water is 6inches deep. The land is cypress mulch mixed with sand. They love to dig and hide. I have a basking temp in the 90's.These guys love to eat! I feed them greens, fruit, veggies, fortified turtle pellets and various worms. These guys are very easy to take care of. The hardest part is setting up a proper enclosure that is easy to maintain and clean.

Was this a wild caught animal?
