I think it would have been better if maybe the newspaper added how proper enclosures would have prevented this type of thing . I know that the time I was bitten it did leave a mark so I'm sure it's very possible that the snake was attracted to the babies body heat and was looking for a place to sleep, the baby might of moved and startled the snake and it miht have bitten. I'm sure that the parents were not expecting to find a snake asleep on their one month old baby and it might have been a little scary for them.I think they(newspaper) made it clear that it was a non poisoness snake and that it was a pet. I can't say that I saw anything bad in what was written except for the fact that it wasn't very newsworthy. Must have been a very slow day.

Yeah, It's just that so many people are working really hard not to make these mistakes so that we minimize the bad publicity, it just really sucks when it does happen.

I'm just glad that this time it was a small king, and not someone's boa. Just another reminder that we should always make sure our cages are escape proof:D

What I found really interesting is that the article was not blown up into the usual "deadly snake almost kills kid" type story. It basically stuck to the facts and reported them in a factual and realistic manner.
Although the article is definitely negative press, at least there is an upside.

I read the store but it does not say ehat happended to the snake, Like they kill the snake, this is what they always seem to do and its not the snakes falt. I am glad it was not poisonist and that the baby was fine but did the parents not hear the baby cry cause wow if it was poisonist i guess little (billy) would not be here. Glad they did not make a big deal out of it so people like us that have snakes can still have our pets. Just my 2 cents worth i guess.
At least it was not that bad. This is the last thing that we need.
