I could use some advice here.....I work at a very good petshop and we aquired a gravid cornsnake.....she is huge and will not give the eggs up so to speak....I have put her in a tank with a "eggbox" and she has heat water and so on.....I dont know what else to do with her to get her ready....I am afraid she may die if she doesnt do this quick.......
Thanks
Richard

I'm not personnally sure what to do, as I've never bred. But, try checking out http://www.corn-utopia.com/ Kathy Love is supposed to be one of the leaders in the subject. She wrote "the cornsnake manual' which has given me good advice. If you email her, she might have some good advice. Good luck.

Any background on her, as to the last time she shed etc. as it would have been the prelay. She should deposit the eggs approx. 7-14 days after the prelay. Also describe "eggbox" as if she is not comfortable with what you have given her she won't lay them. Is the tank in the back away from activity? If not that is probably another issue that may be causing her grief as she requires a nice quiet spot with little or no activity around her. Mark

As Mark said - she needs a quiet, dark, high humidity environment to feel secure enough to lay easily. If she is more than a couple weeks past her pre-lay shed, or if she has laid some and then stopped, there may be cause for concern if she doesn't complete laying. Otherwise, make sure she has a good laybox and give her privacy.

If she does not lay soon take her to a vet as soon as possible.
