I was wondering what the absolute highest temp you can have for the hot side hide box? Everything else is great, 55%-60% Humidity, 79F-84F Ambient but the hide box on the Hot Side is anywhere from 96F - 101F. Is it ok to have a hide box sitting around 100F or should I do what I can to bring it down?

I would say 96-101F is too high. 90-92 is more likely comfort for the snake. there are FQA care sheet for ball at the top or second topic by Matt. Take a look .
Hope this help.

You can just lower the temps on your dimmer, rheostat, or proportional thermostat.
What? No thermostat, dimmer or rheostat to regulate the heat?
Therein lies your problem.

Yikes. 101F will KILL your animal(s). Listen to Mykee. Listen well.

Hello
Even though I'm somewhat knew to BP's, from all the searching and reading I have found that most people say 95F is the highest you want to go. I'd have to say that the temp you are at is too high and isn't in the snakes best intrest. If you don't want a rheostat, or thermostat, or just don't want to spend that kind of money then get a dimmer like mykee has said. They are around $5 after tax for a good one and are easy as hell to hook up, not as goos as rheostat or thermostat but will give you some control.
