View Full Version : albino fertility
hi, i was talking to someone today who said albino boas tend to have a lower fertility rate than normal boas, i was just wondering if anyone has found this to be true
Thanks in advance,
Nick
Interesting that no one has commented on this yet, i know there are a lot of albino's out there as well as people who breed them. I have heard this same thing elsewhere and often wondered if it were true. Any comments from breeders would be greatly appreciated
I recently spoke to a breeder, who had a horrible experience with his large,
8 foot plus albino boa. She first dropped about 40 slugs and then died a couple of months later. Assuming husbandry issues aren't the cause, one wonders how frail
the boa morphs are? I wonder if the BP people are experiencing problems in breeding their high end morphs yet?

It could be caused by inbreeding, the snake could appear with no physical defects but still have a shorter lifespan.
