its quite easy.. neg to neg, positive to positive, ground to ground.. lol..
ill can help you out more ( in better depth ) if you can tell me what your wireing and how you would like to wire it... any dimmers, switches, 2 heat sorces for 1 plug.. how many plugs youd like to use and what kind of wires.. 3 wire, 2 wire, cut up extension cord.. ect ect..

i would like to have two single bulb light sockets (the ones that screw flat onto the top) and one of those hanging aluminum fixtures. i want the wires to come out the back of the tank not the top. every thing is going to be on a time pluged into a powerbar so it doesn't really matter how many plugs there is. the only thing i want on a dimmer would be the big heat bulb. i hope this helps. it's kind of hard to explain. maybe i will try to get some pictures of the tank so you know what im talking about. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask and ill try to answer. thanks

ok well 3 plugs then.. ok its easy espically with the fixtures..
just put the black wire to the negitave terminal.. and the red one to the positive terminal.. thats frankly about it.. your not wanting anything special.. but with the dimmer you hook the black wire from the light into one of the black wires comming from the dimmer and the wire that goes to the wall hook the black wire up to the other wire from the dimmer.. then youll be left with 2 loose positive wires.. hook thoes together.. and you have your dimmer.. make sure you use the correct connectors..
if you get me some pics i can help even more and if you want only 1 or 2 plugs i have some drawings of a junction box and some pics of how i did mine.. limited pics but there is some..
all you have to remember is black is negitive and red is positive, green is ground..

thats what i have wiered up.. the floresent fixture to the switch and the 2 incandesent to the 2 dimmers

thats the back of the switches

the wires from the dimmers connect together and to another wire with a male plug to leads to the wall.. and straight off the switch floresent plugs into the wall...
with the single fixtures (incandesent) use the direstions on the box.. that will tell you which screw is positive and which is negative... then from there you just have to make sure you colour match..
im confused on what you mean by hanging aluminum fixture and why you have to wire to that.. if you bought it at a store it should be wired for you...
