View Full Version : burm and retic
hopefully soon i will be purchasing a baby burmese and baby reticulated python. i would like to get the smallest ones i can find at a reptile show, just to have itty bitty ones for a little while because there cute. i want to put them in pretty large containors unless it may be stressful to them, i would just like to have them in something that will last a few months, they will probably be rubbermaids (iv found some pretty large rubbermaids at the near by walmart) so if some one could suggest a good size that'll be great, thanks for any help or comments.
(just trying to get this started a little better) how about a 3 foot long rubbermaid? i think i might be able to find one a bit wider than a foot, i hope so any ways. this would probably last a few months right? i know they grow FAST but i want males and im going to feed them good but definetly not any more than they need and no huge sized food.

your burm will reach 8 feet in one year, if fed every 7 days normal sized meals. That 3 foot rubermaid will last maybe 2 months, only because it is only a foot wide.
yeah, i was hoping a bit longer than 2 months haha oh well. i can get a rubbermaid about 4 feet long by 2 feet wide. i was mostly worried if this is TOO big for when there little.
My burm is a couple months old and he is 4 feet long, 3 foot rubbermaid would last a couple of months
Ill post pix of what I have mine in
thanks scoot, pix would be great. i was thinking of getin the biggest rubbermaids i can find which i think are 4 feet by 2 feet and making a big rack for the burm, retic, my anaconda and maybe even my sav. or seeing if i could get some one to help me make fairly large cages. that is what i would prefer to do, just gotta have some one help me, im not skilled enough to make cages by myself haha.
yea that would last awhile with a burm, I dont have a retic or a anaconda so im not certain on their growth rate but im pretty sure its fast sorry for the delay in repling I was camping I will post pix of what I have my 5 month old burm in
