Are they both banded / marble? Welcome to the wonderful world of gargoles!

Yes they are both banded / marble. Just little guys! It was one of those situations that you just couldn't refuse. (Fran made the deal) LOL. I know that they are very similar to cresteds, but i do have some research to do. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Congrats! You won't be disappointed with them, they're great geckos!
I hope you've got them in seperate enclosures, that young they tend to be a bit cannibalistic.
I wasn't going to buy anything yesterday but ended up getting another Gargoyle:) They're hard to say no to! Did you get them from Lindsay Mason? Just a guess cause your table was next to him:D

Yea, we did get them from Lindsay. He's a great guy, (and a lot of fun). Fran tells me that you bought yours from him too.
Also thanks to Lindsay we do have them in seperate tanks. He was a wealth of information. I just wish that the show had gone a little better for us. Oh well there's always next time.

Well, you had some very nice Cresteds. I think with the expos, it takes a few before ppl warm up to a new vendor.

Yea I know, to be honest. When I was a buyer not a seller I almost always bought from a vendor that was long standing and had a good reputation. I just wasn't thinking about that when I decided to start selling at shows. All I know is that we're making friends with other people with the same passions, and a lot more experience. Its a learning curve. With patience and perserverence it'll all be good.
Thanks for the compliment about our cresties!

:) Don't worry, I tend to be the same way:) I'm thinking of getting a small table at the Sept. expo, so then I'll get to experience a show from the other side too. Makes me nervous but excited too!

Hey Lindsay,
They are doing great, and as much as I hope for 2 females, Max is already planning ahead on tryng to locate male to breed when they are ready (like a year from now..not right away!!!)
The phrase "Not until we get a house!!!" keeps coming back up....
:D

Welcome to the world or gargoyles! They're just as addicting as cresties and leos and fatties ... and maybe more so since they tend to be calmer than anything but fatties.
Want a hint on handling them? Let them walk onto your finger, keep all other fingers and your palm far, far away, hold the gargoyle inside the enclosure for about half a minute..... they're almost guaranteed to poop or pee on you. After that, feel free to take them out completely ;) I find males will always poop/pee, females will often but not quite as much. It saves cleaning up to leave them inside the enclosure until that 'official greeting' is taken care of.

Also they tend to have bad depth perseption as they will jump at anything regardless of the distance and they dont seem to give much warning like a crested would congrats again.

Isn't that the truth, right Max? ;) I couldn't remember him 10 minutes after I'd bought a crestie from him at a previous show.
Some of us remember everyone everytime and the rest, like me, need to be reminded who's who. LOL
I don't just have trouble remembering faces, I plain can't remember them at all. It's called prosoganosia and makes for a lot of fun when you meet hundreds of people in one day. It's hard enough to try and remember someone who talked to you two hours and 50 people ago, even for an 'un-face-memory challenged' vendor, so it helps to remind them if you were there earlier talking to them or even give your name if they know you from the forum etc.

Ahhh. Sweet Hilde, coming clean are ya? Here's the truth of the matter...she see's you just fine, thanks. Just can't remember your face 5 minutes later. It's quite, quite interesting..and legit.
This is a fantastic link...http://www.prosopagnosia.com/main/stones/index.asp
Talk about feeling stupid! I turned to Hilde at the last show and earnestly asked her if she'd seen "so and so". In a split second i realized what i'd said.. and told her to just FORGET IT!

Uh huh, coming out of the closet ... not THAT one, but a closet of sorts.
I just thought I'd mention it because a lot of the people who talked to me about cresties in particular seemed to have noticed I'm a bit 'aloof' at first. It might help explain it. If I didn't say Hi, or walked right past you, I wasn't snubbing you, I just didn't realize I knew you. Life can be so much fun sometimes --- I don't have to worry about meeting my "X" anywhere, he'd never be noticed. ;)

So Hilde,
I have a question about it, with time do you eventually recognize people when you see them? Or do you go trhough your check list? I have to admit the first few times Max and I met you, I did find you "aloof". :)

:D She's about as far from "aloof" as it gets :D Just cut to the chase, and tell her who it is standing in front of her.. in time she'll memorize all your jewelry, your voice, your posture and your mannerisms. Still, it's annoying (for her) to have a liiittttle fun with it :D

I try like crazy to go through my checklist of characteristics and physical features to see who matches the most of them, but the big deciding factor is the voice and accent. Of course, it does help to have someone close by say "Hi .......". I bring Erika along to let me know who's here, who's approaching etc. Some people are easy to recognize, the ones I see a lot of, or the ones that make an impression (good or bad) are easier to ID. I can't say I eventually recognize anyone, I just find them faster on the checklist.

OMG, we two are so much alike. lol. I often mark it off as my bad memory but hey, maybe it's something more?
I was so embarrased at one show when someone walked up to my table and asked me if I would be interested in doing an article on bearded dragons in a magazine because he was supposed to and didn't think he had time. I said "you should go and ask Tim at Capital dragons". Now remember, I've met Tim about 3 or more times before this and the guy said " I am Tim?!". lol I'm still a bit embarrased about that. Don't even know why I'm telling this story. :o :o Just shows how bad I can be with faces. I sometimes recognize them but can't put a name to it or place where I saw it.
Oh and I can't remember how to spell sometimes eithor. lol, edited to correct some spellling. Can't say it is all corrected though. :)
