what is a good beginer tarantula

i have recently goten very interested in tarantulas i have never owned one so i would be interested in one that grows to about 9 or 10 inches and i don't care how agresive it is and would also prefer an semi aboreal/terestrial type (if that made any sense) and i'm also not looking to spend that much
so if anyone has any advice thank you in advance

well to fulfill all you inquiries is tough considering you have never owned one before i would suggest a rose hair or a curly hair for beggining, i woul also suggest you do as much reading as possible about any species you decide on another good one could be Avicularia auratum (sp?) Peruvian pinkto, get relatively large and remains quite docile. After owning those i would say my friend the sky is truly the limit, however price does start to figure in with the more exotic ones.

Well, if you want something big and semi-arboreal, I would say a birdeater, since you don't care about aggression.

However, for price and a beginning pet, not the greatest idea. I agree. Go for a curly. Easiest is, of course, a chilean rose hair (grammastola rosea).

terrestrial is the way to go in ur case if u want such a big t. If you dont want to spend much money then L.parahybana is the one u need, grows quite large, sometimes hitting 10 inch mark, costs cheap, not very agressive, though it does depend on the individual. They are not very impressive looking colorwise. What i would go for if i were you is an Acanthoscurria geniculata, my personal favourite ( Brazilian giant white knee). These guys grow big, around 8 inches and stocky. I cannot find a negative thing about this species, they eat like mad, grow like weeds, look gorgeous gain color at a very small size, are not agressive but again depends on the individual. Dont cost much either.
Frankly, i dont totaly agree on the idea of buying a G.rosea or B.albopilosum just to get started, i mean if the tarantula doesnt need specific needs which is a story with many species and the guy doesnt care about agressivness, he should get the spider he likes right away. But deffinately get as much reading as u can, thats true. Great animals. Watch out theire addictive though;)
