A mini poll of sorts, as Im just curious how many people that feed f/t have to make the prey do a little dance to get a strike.
I can just drop one in there and it can be hot as the dickens, but my BP wont touch it unless it does a little dance for him while dangling from my tongs..
Does your BP require the cha cha? Or can you just toss it in there and he will go for it even if it is unmoving??

only one of mine eats if you just drop it in, I have to wiggle it for all the others, but hey it makes feeding time fun, right? I wouldn't want it any other way, the one that you just drop the food in won't even eat in front of you, kindof a downer if you ask me.

i have on that will strike as soon as i put it near him , i dont have time to cha cha the other will only strike after 3 mins of dancing then he wait untill its cold to eat it :D
I have some of all, I have live only feeders, ones that take frozen but you have to make it dance, ones that you just drop it in and they get to it when they feel like it, ones that nail it off the tongs as soon as you open their enclosure, and one little bugger that you have to make it dance around take it out for 15 sec and then leave it in with him!! All the joys of getting BP's to eat!!

Mine has gotten to the point where he'll eat it if it I just toss it in there with him, but I think the mental stimulation of "hunting" is good for him, so I do a little dance. Usually I feed him when he's in his hide and as soon as I drag the rat across the opening, he's all over it. One quick strike and he pulls it back into the hide and I don't see him again for a few days. Other times he makes me put on a little show, and when I get tired of the dance I'll just leave it in there and it's gone when I check, so I think he's just toying with me. :)
