I have a 6' cage stacked on top of two 8' cages and I'm looking to fill up the extra space. I'm curious to as if you can house an Amazon Tree Boa in a 1' long x 30" deep x 18" high Cage? I'm looking into getting a breeding pair but I want to make sure I can house them proper. I have also seen people house these together, I'm not one for housing snakes together because of feeding, so I'm curious as to if this isn't a problem with them (assuming it would be in a 2' long x 30" deep x 18" high)? Also, if they can be housed together, how would that affect breeding? If anyone has breed these, are they awesome to breed? They look like they would be really fun to breed for the fact that you would never know what you would get.:)
Thanks for any help!

I'd say that cage size would be too small for even a single adult. I have my adult in a 2 x 2 x 2 rubbermaid with 2 levels of dowell in it, and that seems to be adequate. As for housing them together, bad idea unless they have been cycled for breeding. These guys seem to stress very easily.

yea that would be too small for an adult...let alone a pair...anyways make it atleast 24" x 18" x 24"...that should be good for an adult..

I agree with both Invictus and ATBlover,

24X18X24 - 24X24X24 would be good... I keep all mine in 24X24X24 cages.

Have two levels of dowels / perches, and also provide a hide.

Believe it or not, atb's will use hides if they are available.. all mine do.

Alright thank everyone very much for the comments. I think I'm just going to see if I can find a 2' long x 24-30" deep x 18-24" high. But now since I'm getting just one cage, I'm debating on whether or not to get an Amazon Tree Boa, Emerald Tree Boa, or a Green Tree Python. I love Amazons, they are so beautiful, but I'm still deciding. Also, how would you go about putting dowels / perches in the cage if there are none with it? Glue a little 1/2 circle on both sides and set the dowel in it? Also, does anyone know a place that makes a good plastic or acrylic arboreal cage?
Thanks,
Ben

I just put the dowell in the rubbermaid and screw it right in from the outside. You may wish to put polyeurethane or laquer on the dowell though, because the humidity can cause mold on the wood.
