i would love to one day breed my 2 colombian red tails and 2 ball pythons. problem right now is they have quite a bit of size difference between the sexes. right now my female bci is 6 feet and the male is 3 feet. with my bps, the male is 4 feet and the female is 2 feet (though im not even 100% on their sexes) i dont want to try breeding them with these huge size differences but when they get older how close to size should they be to breed them? thanks

Size isn't hugely important in such that they need to be relevant to eachother. The most important thing is that the females are old enough to safely and successfully breed, and that males are old enough to get the job done. I don't like to put too much emphasis on size, but rather that females are at least 3-4 years old and look like mature animals with good body weight (not that 'still filling out' look). Obviously you may want to worry a bit more about a size differential if you wanted to attempt to breed you 3' male with a 10' female, but for now, I would think that in a year he should be ready to try with your female as long as she is up to it. Your female Ball obviously has more than a year to go before she is old enough however.
