outdoor dirt, leaves etc

i've been reading about other keepers using outdoor dirts, leaves etc for their monitors.


Doesn't this bring in mites, and possibly other pests?


Dead leaves are always covered in insects..

As i keep many other species of reptiles, i need to be careful with what i bring in

any help would be appriciated, thanks
