Hello.
Well breeding cresties is a very rewarding task! Even if you know exactly what the parents look like, its always a suprise when the eggs hatch. Not to mention the egg hunts. I'm sure that there are a-lot more qualified people on this post to give you advice, but as for the cage, it would be my guess that 1 male and 3 or 4 females would be comfortable. Please don't take this as law, but it should be fine. (If anybody disagrees with this please say so, and why). The best luck I seem to have is with pairs tho, so if I owned a tank that size I would split it into 2 peices. If its a glass aquarium, you can goto your local Speedy Autoglass with the measurments of the interior of the tank, and get them to cut you a peice of 1/4 or 1/8th inch thick lexan to size fairly inexpensively, and silicone it into the tank.

I am interested in seeing this 5 ft tall tank.....is it glass? It would depend on the opening whether or not it could be divided.
