well a lusistic (sp?) ball python will set you back a hundred grand US.
and a snow boa prob like 15 or 20 grand. patterenless albino burms are pretty high to.
kings and corns are the only cheap ones

There are also Leucistic Texas Rat snakes and Leucistic Black Rat snakes. The LTRs are pretty reasonable (I've seen them between $50-75 USD). They come in both blue eyed or pink (albino) eyed versions. LBRs are generally more expensive (between $100-150 USD). I've kept both normal Texas Rat snakes and Black Rat snakes and prefer Black Rat snakes for temperament reasons. Though there's plenty of variety of temperament within both types of snakes.
Something to look out for with the LTRs is a bug eyed appearance. Trust me, when you see it, it's quite noticable. It doesn't appear to harm the snake, but I wouldn't breed a snake that showed the trait and I'd pay much less for one as a pet.
cool thanks for the replies guys, i was trying to find a price for the ball python just for fun and couldnt find it wow 100 grand is off the freaking wall man ! lol
and thanks lol for the info on rat snakes
thanks again justin

Leucistic Texans are more readily available than LBRs (so they're less expensive). Based on my personal experience, I think Black snakes generally have a less defensive temperament. Black rats will get bigger also. Care is the same for both species, but a Black will require a larger cage as an adult.
Both are available over the internet from breeders (I've seen them listed in classifieds on a number of sites), though you may want to check out a reptile show in your area for the LTRs if you don't want to deal with shipping. I have no idea where you are located to refer you to a specific breeder.
If you do a search on google, you'll find plenty of information about Texas Rat snakes and Black Rat snakes.

You don't state your location, I'm in Calgary, AB & breed Leusistic Texas Rats. Usually ask $120 CDN Mark I.
P.S. with any luck should have a couple "Snow" CKs too
well i really need to put my location on here im gonna do that right now, but i am way down here in south florida. and i think i would rather have the black rat snake since it gets bigger, i'd prefer a bigger snake. thanks guys
im kinda having a hard time finding somewhere to buy a LBR if someone can post a link or a few links that would be appreciated. i didnt have much time to look cuz im off to work now. well ill check up at 1 30 am e.t.

I just did a search on google for Leucistic Black Rat Snakes. Here is a breeder in the states you can contact that shows them as available.
South Mountain Reptiles (http://www.cornsnakes.net/otherprice.php3)
There are a few others (Mike Jolliff breeds them and I think Dwight Good) but I don't know their websites to link for you.
Since they aren't as common as Leucistic Texas Rats, you won't find them always available and there may be waiting lists depending on what hatches this year.
Hope that helps.
thats a good site thanks
also im wondering he says his lbrs are not as big as his ltrs does that mean his blacks are smaller than usual or what ?? cuz as i said before i would like the bigger of the 2 ......... well now that i think about it what would the approximate size be of an adult texas like girth wise and how much bigger are the blacks thanks again for your help

Generally Black Rats are larger than Texas Rats, but there are individuals of each that don't fit that rule. The size difference may be due to the breeding stock he's using.
I've had Black Rats that maxed out at around 6 feet and Texans that maxed out at around 5.5 foot. Girth wise, they both stay relatively slender compared to boids.
oh ok so girthwise they stay pretty much the same between the 2 cuz thats what im mainly concerned with i like a thicker snake, i have a blood python right now lol thanks justin

Well a Blood Python is about the thickest short snake you can get... Can't think of a Colubrid that even comes close. A Black or Texas Rat is going to get about 1.5 to 2 inches thick (not around). In the wild, they often raid bird nests up in the trees. I can't imagine a Blood up a tree!
hahaha no well i wasnt meaning i want the lbr to be as big as a blood but i was just referring to my preference in size LOL im definately gonna get a lbr or ltr thanks to your info ! justin
