wrong foundations

ssnakess.com had it all to be a great site, instead it is good only at the surface as it is based on completly wrong and unacceptable foundations.

I recently had a post removed from the joke forum because they say they wont tolerate political, racist or religious jokes. well, my friends, Politics, races and religion are present in almost EVERYTHING you talk about, and there's always a way to relate your topic to any of those. I live in this world as a free man, free to talk about ANY subject i like. Control or censorship of those matters (and we are talking about jokes, for crying out loud) is just too fascist for me to subscribe.

I explained to you that your joke was removed since we don't allow politics in the forums. Way back when, it was allowed and we had more wars going on here and more flaming than anyone could tolerate.
If you think keeping the forums calm by removing offensive and possibly damaging posts, then you'll have a heck of a time finding a forum that meets your approval.
Posting jokes that make a country's democratically elected leader look like a nitwit fool isn't going to win you nor the forum any friends.

Your Right Jimmy, you should be able to say what you want etc.... BUT there is one problem that I know of, and that is when it comes to polatics, religon and race theres a problem.. As there is to much controversy even if its only a joke.. For example try telling an American that Canada is better or visa versa, all its going to do is start a flame war. This is just my opinion.

jimmydavid, ive enjoyed reading your posts in the past and would be saddened if you left the site over such a small matter. besides, we come here for the herp chat anyway, not the jokes. personally, i never read the joke forum.

Unfortunately what makes some laugh on here, makes just as many people fume, then you have an all out war. We wouldn't have implicated such a rule if it hadn't been proven to be needed. Having such discussions/jokes wasn't working for this site, and when something isn't working, then it needs to be changed. Plain and simple. I don't understand why that is so hard to comprehend :confused:

As Hilde said, all we had were constant flame wars to try and put out when it was allowed. Both the mods and the members have better things to do then have to deal with that. It's counterproductive. The rule is there for a reason, it isn't going to change, and whining about it isn't going to accomplish anything.

For a herp site, there is still PLENTY of other off-topic things you can talk about... many specific sites don't allow anything. So what's the sense in complaining? :rolleyes:

Kind of entertaining... you make it sound like we are this dirty, underhanded site with tricks up our sleeves :p A quick glance at the rules posted in *every* single forum on this site will reveal the few things that cannot be posted. I'm sorry you feel keeping the peace level at a managable level as well as respecting some topics that are very personal and touchy to people as completely wrong and unnacceptable. As I said before, for a herps-specific site, there's sure a hell of a lot of other O/T things you can discuss. As for taking it to admin, this isn't even a matter.
