I hatched out a SHT leo the other day that has no tail, it wasn't droped it just is not there. This little guy looks like a cross between a leo and a frog and seems to walk like a bulldog. He seems very healthy and eats well and I know with out a tail for fat storage he will need to be feed every day. Has any one ever had this before? What are his chances and did you have to take care of him any diferently? Question 2. I had a SHT that I crossed with a tremper albino that I got from Tarzets. This girl laid her first egg yesterday and it is huge! Twice the size of a normal egg, what would cause this? Is it posable that leo eggs can contane two embrios? Or could it be that my albino has tremper giant blood in him? Teresa if you are out there do your Albinos have giant genes in them? Why is this egg so big? I temp set it to be male just so I could find out sooner? Cant wait to find out what is going on!

I've never experienced that problem, but if I had, I certainly wouldn't breed for health reasons. Unless you can trace the problem to an incubation glitch, I'd assume it was genetic, and try to trace the problem to see which parent to remove from the breeding program.

Sometimes there are 2 embryos in one egg but it's not too common. If the egg was super large when she laid it, it is probably just stuffed extra full, nothing to worry about (most likely). If it increased in size over hours or days, it suggests too much moisture in the subtrate. It could lead to a problem, possibly kill the embryo from the excess pressure inside the egg.
