My first post, read about mealies.

To answer your quetion though, yes they *can* eat them. But it's not nessesarily going to be beneficial to them, nor do I think they will even attempt to eat them.

They can eat mealworms once in a while but don't overdo it. Cresties have relatively weak jaws so their food should be softer than mealworms. If you want to avoid crickets, use soft worms like silkworms, butterworms etc., or the 'complete' diets like CGD.

I've had cresties for over 8 years, and in all that time, with hundreds of cresties as test subjects, I've only had 3 even taste mealworms, and only one of them (my 7 year old female) will eat them, the others did the 'taste and fling against the walls' thing ;)
Mealies don't seem to go over well with them if mine are typical. I do know they much prefer their food mushy and lickable, if it needs chewing, they want it soft bodied.

Well, mines readily eat them, but I guess I shouldn't give them that often 'cause of their hard chitin.
