Seems I may own it. Pines have been my favorite non-venomous snake for quite sometime. I own all species, save the Louisiana pine snake (Pituophis ruthveni.) A friend who is a commercial dealer came into one that was mistakenly identified as a bull snake. I got it from him and completed my pine set. I knew they were rarest of the pines, but after getting this male I began to research and found they were much more rare then I originally thought. I found a couple sites that claimed they were the most endangered snake in North America, and according to the Audubon site (and they should know) these are the most endangered snake in the world. Here some pics of my specimen and the link from the Audubon Society site. Would like to hear from anyone who has ever kept these, and especially would like to find a female.

I have a lone male pine of uncertain locality that I got at a pet store in the Toronto area. He was an adult when I got him and he was just being sort of neglected at the back of the store not being displayed because he was "mean".
I got a good deal on him but haven't been able to find a female that looks anything like him to breed with. He looks quite a lot like the pic in the top left of the first post but with somewhat lighter markings. I'll have to get some pics.

the founding stock originated from terry vandeventner. spelling of terrys last is not correct but he is in the southern states i believe.
Actually, In one episode of Fear Factor they had a clear box of snakes where the contestant had to get a set of keys from the bottom of the box in two places. The snakes bit the person multiple times as they tried to reach for the keys. I don't know what species of snake this was, but they were very agressive. I hate to say it but I laughed at the damage they inflicted on the people.
opps, sorry, that last one should have been on the fear factor thread
