I was not often on the forum lately but this couldent pass... A big surprise when I got home!

I was in a hury to leave , I had to clean her cage but didint take the time to put her in the plastic containers I usually use when cleaning time. So i've decided to put her with the male. These guys when they are growing eggs eat like pigs and are in constant search of a meal until about 2 weeks prior to laying. They would eat a styrofoam box if given the opportunity :)

I thought it would be great to share those pics there's not many on the net and not many documented... The male was about 1 - 1.5 kg about the same lenght as the female. What is even worst is that she is gravid again and i'm affraid that the eggs are gonna be squished, the size of that meal is simply to much.... Anyways another statistic ;) Dont take me wrong it got me mad, not at the snake but at me..... On a positive note isint that called experience? ;)

Now I just hope that the eggs will be ok and i hope to find some males that i've previously sold to buy back to keep that line....

You can see how the scales are distorted around the first 1/3 of the body .... The lower part of the body of the male is still there....

Ouch! I bet your butt is sore from kicking yourself :(

You're right though, we are always learning. Too bad for the male though. Hopefully this will keep someone else from making the same mistake. Thanks for posting, and good luck with the eggs.

Wow that is interesting. Man those eggs are really poking out. Hopefully they don't break and put the female at risk. The male was probably trying to get some and ended up getting eatin "Hey baby.....aahhhhhh!"

Wow....
I really hope that she is able to pass that 'meal' out and be alright.
Hope that you'll be able to find another male plus the eggs being alright......

I too would be kicking myself......ouch!!
Sorry to hear about your loss...

Wow Stav- that stinks! I hope she lays her clutch safely and at least the male's offspring will survive.
Good luck with her and finding a replacement male.

Ouch that's rough :/ Hopefully it turns out ok... and hopefully you can keep the line going! I remember seeing your babies last year, gorgeous little things and your parents seem to have kept a lot of their colour!

Indeed. Stav's Rings are AWESOME! Some of the best colour I've seen up here in Canada.
